Troye Sivan came out as gay on YouTube in 2013, at eighteen, before he had a record deal - partly, he's said, because he didn't want it hidden from the label during negotiations. Everything since has been built on that openness. Blue Neighbourhood (2015) made him a pop star, Bloom (2018) made him an unapologetic one, and Something to Give Each Other (2023) - the "Rush" album - turned gay desire into stadium-sized pop without a single apology or euphemism. He's also an actor (Boy Erased, The Idol) and the youngest ever recipient of GLAAD's Stephen F. Kolzak Award. Multiple Grammy nominations, no wins yet. A fourth album, She's the Best, arrives October 9, 2026.

Is Troye Sivan gay?

Yes. Sivan came out publicly as gay in a YouTube video in August 2013, aged 18, and has spoken about it openly ever since.
