Sitges Gay Guide: Bars, Beaches & How to Do It Like a Local

Sitges is 40 minutes from Barcelona and it is its own thing entirely. Here's how to do it without feeling like a tourist.

Where to Stay in Sitges

I did an Airbnb, and I'd do it again. Sitges is small enough that a hotel isn't buying you much, and staying in an apartment made the whole trip feel less like a tourist visit.

Grindr will be your best friend here, not for what you think, or not only. It's how you meet locals, find out what's actually happening that night, and end up somewhere you'd never have found. I met a guy, we drank with his friends, and I ended up on a yacht. That's Sitges.

If you'd rather book a hotel, Parrots Sitges Hotel is the gay one and it's on the main square.

Where the Sitges Gay Scene Is

The gay strip is Carrer Bonaire and Carrer de Joan Tarrida, converging on Plaça de la Indústria, locally nicknamed Judgement Square, for reasons that become obvious. Not to be confused with Carrer del Pecat, "Sin Street," which is the mainstream nightlife strip.

Sitges Gay Bars

My pick, and it's exactly what it sounds like. Late-night cruise bar, open until 6am. Know what you're walking into.

Sitges Pride 2027

June 9 to 13, 2027. Accommodation sells out early. Bears Week runs in September and takes over the whole town.

One Warning

Sitges is extremely seasonal. Several venues close entirely outside summer and others drop to weekends. A July trip and a February trip are not the same town.

Your questions

What are the best gay bars in Sitges?

Parrots on Plaça de la Indústria is the default meeting point with a big terrace and drag, and Queenz and Scandal on Carrer Bonaire carry the late night. Bukkake on Carrer de Joan Tarrida is my pick if you know what you're walking into.

Where is the gay beach in Sitges?

Bassa Rodona is the main gay beach and it's walking distance from the bars. Balmins is the quieter nudist cove, and Platja de l'Home Mort is the remote gay nudist beach, a 45-minute walk with no facilities.

When is Sitges Pride 2027?

June 9 to 13, 2027. Accommodation sells out early, so book well ahead. Bears Week in September takes over the whole town as well.

Is Organic still open in Sitges?

No. Organic and Trailer were the same venue, the town's legendary late-night disco, and it closed in May 2022. Privilege is closed too, so Sitges no longer has one big superclub.
